Position Overview
As a Junior Sous-Chef, you will support the Head Chef in organizing and coordinating all kitchen activities. Your daily tasks include preparation, plating, and mise en place, ensuring recipes, portion controls, and quality standards are carefully followed. Additionally, you will assist in stock management, monitor deliveries, and enforce food safety and hygiene protocols based on HACCP guidelines. You will provide operational supervision to the kitchen team, support junior cooks, and promote a positive working atmosphere. This role requires full-time, on-site presence at the Doha-based establishment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen, preferably as a skilled commis or junior sous-chef, with solid command of fundamental culinary techniques and brigade-style workflow.
- Strong knowledge of hygiene and food safety practices, with the ability to implement HACCP procedures and maintain a clean, well-organized kitchen.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously during peak hours.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a team spirit and maintaining respectful and constructive relations with colleagues and management.
- Preferably holds a diploma or certification in culinary arts or cooking, with foundational understanding of international cuisine and eagerness to learn diverse culinary styles.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings, customer service orientation, and motivation to advance to higher responsibilities.
