Overview
The Junior Schools Principal will provide steadfast and continuous support to the Director General and Senior Principal, overseeing all aspects of operations concerning Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools, and Daycare units. This leadership role demands strong alignment with Misk School’s vision, driving strategic initiatives to ensure that the vision is executed effectively in the respective schools and daycare settings. The Principal will foster and sustain collaborative and positive relationships within the community and stay informed about developments within Misk Schools, the Misk Foundation, and general educational trends. Exemplifying the highest professional and ethical standards is essential, as is a dedicated commitment to the excellence of students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the utmost professionalism and integrity in school activities.
- Report regularly to the Director General on school operations and strategic growth.
- Ensure comprehensive health and safety for all students, addressing their spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Support staff development and cultivate a culture centered on learning and achievement.
- Lead and advise Vice Principals, Assistant Principals, and managers within Kindergarten, Lower Primary, and Daycare sectors.
- Supervise organizational systems and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
- Manage continuous self-evaluation processes and documentation.
- Collaborate with the Director General to develop and implement school aims and policies.
- Allocate staff resources effectively to meet organizational objectives.
- Oversee implementation of quality assurance and appraisal procedures within the schools and daycare.
- Manage student progress evaluation and behavior management frameworks.
- Coordinate with senior leadership to manage academic calendars and ensure smooth operations.
- Partner with shared services departments for operational efficiency and resource planning.
- Directly manage Vice and Assistant Principals upon the Director General’s consent.
- Support middle leadership in team management challenges.
- Build a dedicated team of educators committed to high standards and ongoing professional growth.
- Delegate to ensure all year groups meet attainment and progress goals.
- Fulfill teaching duties as required, adaptable to various subjects and age groups.
- Provide supervisory coverage and undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Safeguarding
- Commit to safeguarding policies and staff codes of conduct, prioritizing student safety and welfare, and assist the designated safeguarding lead in upholding these standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (mandatory).
- Qualified Teacher Status (mandatory).
- Leadership preparation certification such as NPQSL or CPML or their equivalents (mandatory).
- Master’s Degree in Education or Leadership (preferred).
- Advanced headship training such as NPQH or CPAH or their equivalents (preferred).
- Minimum five years of successful leadership experience in Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools, or Daycare environments.
- Five or more years of teaching experience.
- Proficiency in school self-evaluation and development planning.
- Experience managing staff and contributing to their professional growth.
- Strategic planning and implementation capabilities.
- Collaborative leadership qualities with capacity for decisive decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills to engage staff, students, and parents effectively.
- Understanding of the needs of international students and families in Saudi Arabia.
- Demonstrated leadership in driving school-wide improvements and fostering a learning culture.
