Job description
Overview
We are seeking a Junior Production Assembly Engineer for a leading automotive components manufacturer in Bengaluru, India. This role demands core familiarity with Japanese manufacturing principles, especially in assembly operations, along with experience in project handling and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage new project execution and allocate manpower within the team.
- Prepare production schedules and present them effectively to senior management.
- Serve as a communication link between associates, team leaders, and across shifts.
- Ensure timely dispatch of project-related parts to customers and logistics centers.
- Oversee supplier interactions and support abnormality resolution within the group.
- Maintain adherence to shop floor rules and instruct associates on safety guidelines.
- Develop packing specifications and monitor machine inspections daily.
- Confirm quality standards for initial and final manufactured parts.
- Manage change points and update in-process defect charts regularly.
- Maintain kanban systems in planning and verify team efficiency and inline productivity.
- Record attendance and manage overtime schedules, consumable stock, and ensure 2S lean conditions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical training such as Toyota Technical Training (TTT).
- Approximately 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in production assembly, preferably in a Japan-based manufacturing environment excluding Toyota group companies.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of assembly line processes and production scheduling.
- Basic understanding of Low Voltage Parts Testing (LVPT), High Voltage Parts Testing (HVPT), and Medium Power Testing (MPT).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working under pressure.
- Willingness to work in shifts as per operational requirements.
Additional Information
- Candidates must not belong to Toyota group companies.
- The role requires a good grasp of Japanese manufacturing concepts and quality standards.
- Experience in schedule preparation, change management, and manpower handling is essential.
