Job Overview
As a key member of our machining team, you will operate precision lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment to produce parts vital for 6DOF simulators, compressors, and aerospace systems. This role demands both hands-on machining aptitude and effective coordination with vendors for specialized manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform machining tasks on precision lathes and milling machines to craft high-quality components.
- Operate welding apparatus to assemble and finish parts as per design specifications.
- Liaise with external vendors for specialized manufacturing processes that are beyond in-house capabilities.
- Collaborate with external testing partners to ensure all manufactured parts meet quality standards.
- Maintain effective project timelines by monitoring progress and addressing bottlenecks.
- Assist in the transition to CNC machining technology as the company expands its manufacturing capacity.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and act as a link between the design and manufacturing divisions.
Skills & Experience
Success in this role involves proficiency in operating traditional machining equipment, strong quality assurance knowledge, and effective communication skills to manage vendor relationships. Experience or interest in CNC machining is highly desirable as this capability expands within our operations.
