Junior Machine Learning Engineer

About the Role

A growing technology company specializing in advanced artificial intelligence and video intelligence products is seeking a Junior Machine Learning Engineer to join their Model Engineering team based in Singapore. This position offers hands-on involvement in developing machine learning models rather than just application of existing ones.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate computer vision models including tasks such as image classification, object detection, segmentation, pose estimation, and action recognition.
• Experiment with various neural network architectures and training methodologies.
• Perform benchmarking of new modeling techniques and assess their performance metrics.
• Identify current model weaknesses and work on improving overall accuracy, robustness, and computational efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure datasets are of high quality and model outcomes meet requirements.
• Pay attention to practical deployment considerations like latency, throughput, and resource usage.
• Gain experience through the complete computer vision model development lifecycle, from research and training to optimization and deployment.

Candidate Profile

• Open to fresh graduates or professionals with up to two years of relevant practical experience.
• Experience in training, fine-tuning, and evaluating computer vision models.
• Familiarity with one or more tasks among image classification, object detection, segmentation, pose estimation, or action recognition.
• Practical knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Strong enthusiasm for computer vision and deep learning model development.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or closely related technical discipline.
• Python programming skills are preferred.
