Position Overview
The company is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Junior Estimator to become part of their Estimating Team. This permanent full-time role is ideal for candidates interested in the home building industry with a desire to advance their careers within a well-established leader in residential construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the communication and review of job-related information with trades, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Help calculate, monitor, and manage costs throughout the estimation phase of projects.
- Evaluate and review bids submitted by vendors and trade contractors.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining comprehensive and accurate estimating documents.
- Maintain clear and timely communication to ensure the accuracy of information within the team and external partners.
- Spot and help resolve any discrepancies, issues, or inquiries involving estimates, bids, and project files.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in the estimating process by leveraging attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Collaborate effectively across departments while confidently managing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Preferably at least one year of experience in construction estimating.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precise accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously while also thriving within a team setting.
- High urgency and adeptness at juggling multiple priorities.
- Additional consideration for candidates with experience in data analysis, negotiation, or vendor/trade communications.
- Post-secondary education is regarded as an advantage.
- Familiarity with computer software and technology systems is beneficial.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday, full-time hours.
