Junior Engineer - Laser Cutting & AutoCAD

Overview

We are seeking a Junior Engineer or Graduate Engineer Trainee specializing in Laser Cutting and AutoCAD to join our Production/Fabrication department for the Transformer Line in the heavy engineering and electrical equipment manufacturing industry, located in Ghaziabad. This role welcomes freshers and requires diploma or degree qualifications in Mechanical, Production, or Automobile Engineering, with AutoCAD certification highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed 2D engineering drawings for sheet metal fabrication using AutoCAD, converting 3D models or sketches into accurate manufacturing layouts.
• Adjust existing designs based on production feedback or engineering change orders, applying precise tolerances and correct sheet metal bend allowances for transformer structural parts.
• Use nesting software like Sigma NEST, CypCut, TruTops, or Radan to efficiently arrange parts on sheet metal to minimize material waste and reduce cutting time.
• Generate and input NC or G-code programs into CNC fiber laser cutting machines, maintaining a well-organized digital archive of drawings and programs.
• Collaborate with machine operators to ensure cutting setups such as gas pressure, speed, and focal length are suitable for various materials including mild and stainless steel.
• Conduct initial quality checks on cut parts using precision instruments like vernier calipers and micrometers to verify conformance to specifications before production ramp-up.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Automobile Engineering.
• Up to 1 year of experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• AutoCAD certification is strongly preferred.

Compensation

The position offers a monthly salary range of INR 15,000 to INR 24,000.
