Job description

Position Overview

We are looking for a Junior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor to join our team at the Cork site. This role is ideal for candidates holding a relevant diploma seeking to build their career with a leading contractor.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute the company's health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and management systems on the site.
  • Support site management by advising on Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Safe Plans of Action.
  • Offer guidance and training on all health and safety topics to employees and management alike.
  • Conduct Health and Safety induction sessions for new hires and subcontractors on-site.
  • Oversee inspections of all equipment to ensure compliance with statutory and internal standards, including scheduled testing.
  • Carry out frequent inspections and audits of the site and report findings to both site and senior management.
  • Manage accident reporting, documentation, investigations, and communication with clients and the EHS manager; ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Ensure workforce competency by monitoring completion of essential training such as Manual Handling, Working at Height, and Abrasive Wheel training.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a diploma in Health and Safety.
  • Have at least one year of experience in an EHS capacity.
  • Capable of working independently with strong motivation.
  • Hold a valid, clean driving license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Effective communicator with confidence and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced user of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
