Our globally connected New Zealand team participates in high-profile legal and regulatory cases across various industries in New Zealand, Australia, and Asia. The team handles complex questions such as market competition effects, pricing for regulated infrastructure, water rights allocation, efficiency in electricity markets, decarbonisation costs, and economic damages arising from legal disputes.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze diverse data sets to support economic assessments.
- Build quantitative models and apply econometric techniques.
- Gather and assess market, industry, and corporate information.
- Summarize and apply relevant economic research literature.
- Manage extensive data collections and develop programs for complex analyses.
- Prepare memos and contribute to presentations, detailed reports, and expert evidence.
- Collaborate actively through team meetings and client communications.

Candidate Profile
Applicants should have one to three years of relevant experience and possess a graduate degree in Economics, Economics and Finance, or a related field demonstrating strong academic merit. Exceptional undergraduates may also be considered. Candidates must show enthusiasm for quantitative analysis and applied microeconomic problem-solving. Key attributes include meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, excellent communication skills, inquisitiveness, and independent judgment.
