About the Role
Milescoop Ventures Ltd is seeking a dedicated Junior Credit Controller to join our finance team in Nairobi, Kenya. This role involves managing customer accounts, executing collection efforts, and handling financial data with precision, contributing to the company's overall financial health.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain and update detailed customer account records and payment histories.
- Initiate follow-ups with clients regarding overdue payments and outstanding debts.
- Conduct routine phone calls and send reminders to customers about payments.
- Oversee accounts receivable to guarantee prompt collection of debts.
- Generate and prepare payment and collection reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Monitor payment commitments from customers and diligently pursue late payments.
- Ensure precise data entry and upkeep of financial information for customers.
- Create customer statements and conduct reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate closely with Finance and Sales departments to resolve discrepancies or issues.
- Keep meticulous records of all contact and collection activities with customers.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience relevant to credit collection, debt recovery, accounts receivable, or financial data management.
- A diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Credit Management, or a related discipline.
- Robust understanding of receivables management and debt collection procedures.
- Exceptional abilities in data entry, report generation, and financial record keeping.
- Strong oral and written communication skills suited for customer engagement and follow-ups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial software and systems.
- Capability to meet collection targets and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and high accuracy standards.
