Junior Cost Estimation Engineer - Sheet Metal Fabrication

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Estimator knowledgeable in sheet metal fabrication, engineering drawings, and cost analysis. New graduates with appropriate technical expertise are also welcome to apply. The position is based in Ajman, UAE, offering a monthly salary of AED 5,000.

Company Overview

Our client operates as a manufacturing enterprise focusing on sheet metal fabrication and associated production services within the UAE.

Primary Responsibilities

• Examine drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), specifications, and client requirements.
• Calculate material quantities and develop cost estimates.
• Estimate fabrication expenses involving processes such as laser cutting, CNC punching, bending, welding, assembly, and finishing.
• Procure and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support preparation of quotations and costing documentation.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, engineering, and sales departments.
• Keep records of quotations, costing information, and updated pricing for materials.
• Assist in comparing forecasted costs against actual expenditures for projects.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fundamental understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials including mild steel (MS), galvanized iron (GI), stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Competency in reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with basic cost calculation abilities.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD is a beneficial asset.
• Strong numerical aptitude coupled with careful attention to detail.
