Job description

Join our Database & Storage Infrastructure team in Singapore as a Computer Software Engineer, focusing on distributed database and storage platforms.

Conduct research, design, and develop software and utility programs that manage large-scale database and storage solutions.
Analyze requirements from users and systems, crafting software solutions grounded in computer science, engineering, and mathematical methodologies.
Maintain and upgrade software, expand existing functionalities, and oversee software testing and validation related to database and storage services.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to blend hardware and software systems and assist in defining performance criteria.
Create tools and automation for monitoring system health, capacity planning, backups, and incident handling.
Engage in on-call schedules and tackle production-related incidents promptly.

Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related fields.
Understanding of TCP/IP, data structures, algorithms, and various protocols; solid knowledge of operating systems, networking, databases, and computer architecture.
Basic grasp of database principles including indexing, transactions, ACID properties, MVCC, Raft consensus, sharding strategies, CAP theorem, and high availability mechanisms.
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, Python, or Rust.
Fluency in Mandarin and English to facilitate smooth collaboration with Mandarin-speaking colleagues and stakeholders across regions.
Preferably familiar with Unix/Linux operating systems and networking concepts.
Experience with databases and storage technologies such as MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, HDFS, or HBase is advantageous.
