Role Overview

Selkie's Bakery & Café is looking for a Junior Barista to join their team at their café located on the 1st Floor, The Walk, Hiranandani Estate, Thane.

Work Schedule & Salary

The role offers a monthly salary of ₹20,000, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The barista will have one weekly day off, which falls between Monday and Wednesday.

Experience Requirements

Candidates should have between one to two or more years of hands-on experience as a barista.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare quality espresso-based beverages such as espresso shots, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty coffee drinks following café standards.
• Manage the morning opening duties of the café including getting the coffee station ready for service.
• Maintain cleanliness and routine upkeep of espresso machines, grinders, steam wands, and work counters.
• Work flexibly as part of the team by taking orders, serving customers, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring the café is clean throughout operations.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ practical experience working with commercial espresso machines and coffee grinders.
• Skilled in milk steaming and texturing, including the ability to create basic latte art designs such as hearts and tulips.
• Fundamental knowledge of espresso extraction techniques, recipe adherence, and machine dial-in settings.
• Positive demeanor with effective communication skills for guest interaction and a strong focus on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
