Role Overview
The Junior Accountant position is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Jeddah aimed at supporting the finance team with everyday accounting functions. Key responsibilities encompass recording financial transactions, maintaining entries in the general ledger, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable procedures. The role also involves preparing routine financial reports, aiding month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance by organizing and filing documentation according to company policies.
Key Duties
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain the general ledger accurately.
- Assist with processing invoices and payment collections within accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Support reconciliation of bank statements and monitoring of expense records.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve queries related to billing and payments.
- Support senior accountants during audits and contribute to continuous improvements of accounting procedures.
- Prepare basic financial reports to facilitate month-end and year-end closing activities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Competency in fundamental accounting, bookkeeping, and maintaining accurate financial data entries.
- Experience with accounting software and strong MS Excel skills including spreadsheets, formulas, and pivot tables.
- Understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes such as invoice handling and payment tracking.
- Knowledge of essential financial principles and reporting standards related to monthly and yearly closures.
- Strong attention to detail with numerical accuracy and excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for professional collaboration with finance and operational teams.
- Relevant educational qualifications such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Previous internships or 1–2 years professional experience in accounting or finance roles, especially in facilities management or service industries, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with local Saudi financial regulations and basic taxation concepts is considered a plus.
