Role Overview
We are collaborating with a reputable accounting firm located in Brisbane CBD seeking a motivated Junior Accountant eager to expand their tax expertise and gain substantial client interaction early in their accounting career. This opportunity allows you to advance your technical accounting knowledge and client management skills within a supportive team environment, with escalating responsibilities as you progress.
Key Duties
- Prepare income tax returns for individuals and sole traders.
- Manage client meetings and maintain direct communication with clients.
- Compile and review BAS and other tax compliance documentation.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting workpapers.
- Support the preparation of tax returns for trusts and companies.
- Identify potential tax challenges and opportunities for clients.
- Progress to handling more complex accounting tasks as experience grows.

Candidate Profile
- Between 6 months and 2 years experience in Australian public practice accounting.
- Possess or currently pursuing a relevant Accounting degree.
- Some prior experience in preparing individual income tax returns.
- Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- A proactive attitude towards learning, including willingness to seek feedback.
- Ambition to eventually begin CA studies.
