Role Overview
This position involves overseeing the active engagement of local resident jobseekers and facilitating the integration of community employers into the Jobs Nearby @ CDC initiative, fostering localized workforce development and matching opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engagement process for resident jobseekers and coordinate employer onboarding to the Jobs Nearby @ CDC program within various CDCs and Community Centres.
- Offer tailored support and guidance to jobseekers by understanding their challenges empathetically and assisting them throughout their job search process.
- Collaborate with employers—such as SMEs, neighborhood businesses, and community-based organizations—and vendors to enable job seeker profile creation, manage job listings, and ensure efficient use of the job portal.
- Assist jobseekers in developing digital profiles, uploading necessary documents, and navigating job application platforms effectively.
- Facilitate introductions between jobseekers and employers utilizing both face-to-face and online methods, including arranging on-the-spot interviews.
- Track jobseekers’ progress, perform regular follow-ups, and evaluate service delivery methods (including post-interview and post-placement stages) to refine the experience for all participants.
- Grow the network of participating employers and cultivate strong relationships to enhance engagement.
- Plan and take part in events like job fairs, learning festivals, and outreach sessions designed to connect jobseekers with employment opportunities.
- Maintain accurate data records concerning registrations of jobseekers, employer participation, and success stories to aid monitoring and evaluation efforts.
- Provide operational mentorship to newly appointed Job Ambassadors during their induction to ensure smooth daily functioning.

Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Experience or knowledge in areas such as outreach, career and skills counselling, community engagement, human resources, recruitment, or workforce development.
- Proficiency in a second language (examples include Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, or dialects) to better engage with diverse local residents.
- Strong interpersonal communication abilities capable of addressing employer and jobseeker inquiries, complemented by a basic understanding of job market patterns and workforce policies.
- Capability to work autonomously across multiple community venues, with willingness to frequently travel within the district.
- Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and on public holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to conduct outreach activities outdoors and within community settings.
- Attributes such as proactiveness, persuasiveness, and resourcefulness.
