Java Software Engineer

Project Overview

This role involves supporting the development and enhancement of enterprise applications for a financial services client. The focus lies on backend microservices, frontend interfaces, API development, system integrations, and cloud-native deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement enterprise-scale applications leveraging Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Create and refine scalable Microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Build responsive frontend solutions using Angular and React technologies.
• Utilize HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript to deliver engaging frontend experiences.
• Implement and maintain Micro Frontends (MFE) architecture where applicable.
• Ensure seamless integration between frontend applications and backend microservices/APIs.
• Use Docker and Kubernetes for application containerization and deployment.
• Develop and sustain Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines utilizing Jenkins and Git.
• Leverage Kafka for event-driven communication and asynchronous processing.
• Manage databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Deploy and maintain applications across AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Conduct unit and integration testing, resolve issues, and provide support in production environments.
• Engage actively in Agile methodologies, review codes, participate in technical discussions, and drive continuous improvements.

Essential Qualifications

• Between three and five years of professional experience.
• Proficient in Java development with solid hands-on expertise.
• Experienced with Spring Boot and designing microservices architectures.
• Skilled in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Familiar with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Competent with Jenkins and Git for managing CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledgeable in Kafka and event-driven systems.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Good exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong grasp of enterprise-level application lifecycle and software development processes.
• Able to collaborate effectively within Agile development teams.

Desired Additional Skills

• Knowledge of React and frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Micro Frontends (MFE) architecture.
• Familiarity with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS.
• Understanding of GraphQL, Redux, or Vue.js frameworks.
• Prior experience in financial services or banking-related projects is advantageous.
• Exposure to cloud-native development and DevOps methodologies.
