Java Backend Developer Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer to be based in Dubai, UAE, possessing between four to seven years of professional experience. This position involves the creation and upkeep of RESTful APIs and microservices with a focus on asynchronous programming, database management, cloud platforms, and continuous integration and delivery workflows.

Core Responsibilities

• Create, develop, and sustain backend services primarily utilizing Java 21, Spring Boot, and Vert.x frameworks.
• Construct REST APIs and provide comprehensive documentation employing Swagger/OpenAPI standards.
• Implement asynchronous processing flows and establish integrations with external systems.
• Architect and fine-tune MySQL databases, including deployments on Amazon RDS.
• Containerize applications via Docker and facilitate automated build and deployment pipelines.
• Leverage Git and GitLab for source control and team collaboration, with task management through Jira.
• Manage deployment, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting of services hosted on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Essential Qualifications

• Between 4 to 7 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Proficient in Java 21, Spring Boot, REST API design, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Vert.x and asynchronous programming techniques.
• Practical knowledge of MySQL, Amazon RDS, AWS, and GCP environments.
• Familiarity with Docker containerization, CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitLab version control, Jira, and Swagger/OpenAPI documentation tools.
• Capable of diagnosing and resolving production issues while collaborating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
