Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automation Testing Engineer proficient in creating, developing, and supporting automation testing frameworks for web, mobile, and API platforms. This role focuses on enhancing test coverage and minimizing manual testing efforts to ensure superior software quality.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories for test planning.
- Design and maintain robust automation frameworks.
- Develop and run automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications.
- Execute diverse testing types including Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, and End-to-End testing.
- Use defect management tools to log and track defects efficiently.
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and business analysts to maintain quality standards.
- Incorporate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage test data and automation environments.
- Review execution results, diagnose causes of failures, and provide root cause analyses.
- Adhere to QA best practices, processes, and standards.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning sessions.
Required Technical Skills
- Proficiency in test automation and framework development.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, Cucumber (BDD).
- Preferred experience with Playwright and Cypress.
- Programming expertise in one or more of Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Knowledge of various framework architectures such as Hybrid, Data-Driven, Keyword-Driven, Page Object Model (POM), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
- API automation skills including REST API testing, Postman, Rest Assured, Swagger/OpenAPI, and JSON/XML validation.
- Strong background in web testing types such as Functional, Regression, Cross-Browser, UI validation, and End-to-End testing.
- Experience working with major browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari.
- Preferred mobile automation experience with Appium and Android/iOS testing.
- Competency in database testing, including SQL query writing, validation, and backend verification across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.
- DevOps and CI/CD implementation experience using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI/CD.
- Version control skills with Git and Bitbucket.
- Preferred knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter and LoadRunner as well as performance test automation and monitoring.
- Familiarity with test management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM/Quality Center.
- Experience with build tools such as Maven and Gradle.
- Proficient in reporting tools including Extent Reports and Allure Reports.
- Defect tracking expertise using JIRA and Bugzilla.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in automation testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Playwright or Cypress tools.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- ISTQB certification.
- Experience in domains such as Banking, Healthcare, Insurance, Telecom, Retail, or E-commerce.
Interview Focus
- Concepts of Selenium WebDriver.
- Programming skills in Java and Python.
- Designing automation frameworks including POM, TestNG/JUnit, and Cucumber BDD.
- API testing with Rest Assured and Postman.
- SQL and database testing knowledge.
