Java RESTful API Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Java developer with a minimum of 8 years of strong Java expertise, preferably with knowledge in banking, payments, or financial services domains. The candidate will design, implement, and maintain high-performance Java applications using cutting-edge frameworks and architectural principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and maintain robust Java-based applications using modern software development methodologies.
• Develop and refine microservices architectures that ensure scalability, reliability, and top-notch performance.
• Create and consume RESTful APIs following industry standards for seamless system integration.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Product Owners, Architects, and DevOps specialists to deliver quality solutions.
• Influence system design, contribute to architectural decisions, and implement improvements.
• Uphold high code quality standards via thorough code reviews, rigorous testing, and best practice adoption.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and processes, particularly using Azure DevOps tools.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in live production environments efficiently.
• Lead knowledge sharing and mentor junior developers within the team chapter.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Advanced proficiency in Java 21 programming language.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot and associated frameworks.
• Deep understanding of REST API design and web services.
• Proven track record working with microservices architecture patterns.
• Experience using Azure DevOps for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), including pipeline management, repositories, and boards.
• Firm grasp of software engineering principles including design patterns, code quality, and automated testing.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies for software delivery.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Knowledge of Spring Integration.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-driven and messaging frameworks.
• Competence with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to security and compliance regulations relevant to banking and financial sectors.
• Cloud computing experience and deployment of Java apps in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with the payments industry domain.
