Java Full-stack Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Java Full-stack Engineer to join our team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-grade applications within a stringent regulatory framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and upkeep backend services and REST APIs leveraging Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot database queries and integrations to enhance application performance.
• Maintain and improve React-based user interface components, ensuring seamless backend API integration.
• Manage application deployment and problem resolution using tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Configure and debug API gateways and reverse proxy servers.
• Analyze production system issues by examining application logs, determining root causes, and implementing corrective measures.
• Address and fix vulnerabilities found in application code and dependencies, verifying the effectiveness of these solutions.
• Engage in technical discussions with clients, clarifying requirements, communicating challenges, and proposing solutions; lead discussions when necessary.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient in Java programming, Spring Boot framework, and RESTful API service development.
• Strong background with databases and SQL, including integration techniques and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Practical experience with React and its integration with backend services.
• Proficiency in GitLab CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker, and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with API gateway and reverse proxy systems like Nginx.
• Experienced in production troubleshooting with log analysis, debugging, and root cause investigation.
• Knowledgeable in identifying and remediating application and dependency vulnerabilities.
• Effective communication skills in English for client interactions and technical explanations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Axway API Gateway or comparable enterprise API management systems.
• Background supporting projects within Singapore’s public sector or other highly regulated settings.
• Exposure to Government Commercial Cloud (GCC), Government Data Centre (GDC), and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments is highly desirable.
