Java Full Stack Developer (Java & Angular)

About the Role

Join Marsh's Applications Development team within the Marsh Risk Tech division in Pune. This hybrid position requires you to be onsite at least three days weekly, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build and maintain web applications using Java technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, code, and sustain web applications leveraging Java technology stacks and frameworks.
• Gather and analyze user requirements and convert them into technical implementation plans.
• Develop scalable, efficient, and maintainable software solutions aligned with best engineering practices.
• Produce clean, testable, and well-structured code.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold quality and coding standards compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects promptly.
• Work with front-end developers to seamlessly integrate server-side logic with user interface components.
• Enhance application performance and scalability continuously.
• Keep abreast of new Java and application development trends and integrate improvements.
• Engage actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience as a Java Full Stack Developer or in a comparable role.
• Strong command of Java and familiarity with related frameworks including Spring and Hibernate.
• Working knowledge of front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB, along with SQL proficiency.
• Understanding of RESTful services and microservices architectural patterns.
• Proficiency with version control tools like Git and build automation tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills.
• Able to work autonomously and contribute positively in fast-moving team settings.

Preferred Attributes

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Professional certification in Java or associated technologies.
• Hands-on exposure to cloud services (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of DevOps methodologies and tools.
• Experience implementing test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing suites.
• Familiarity with front-end UI/UX design principles.
