The team focuses on delivering efficient solutions through experts in MuleSoft architecture, Salesforce development, integration consulting, and testing. This role involves building and maintaining the BlueHippo core product platform itself.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Java backend services using Java 8/11/17 and Spring Boot framework.
• Create and manage RESTful and SOAP web services for the platform's backend.
• Deploy and operate backend services on AWS Lambda and EC2 instances, leveraging AWS services such as S3, IAM, CloudWatch, API Gateway, and RDS for comprehensive cloud operations.
• Design and interact with both relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases to support service requirements.
• Leverage AI coding assistant tools (like Claude) daily to write, debug, optimize and review code effectively.
• Collaborate closely with frontend teams to agree on API specifications and contracts.
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests, and actively participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise in production environments to maintain uptime.
• Document APIs, deployment procedures, and data models clearly for team and platform transparency.
• Participate in daily product standup meetings supporting agile development workflows.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated minimum of 3 years practical experience in Java development including Java versions 8, 11, or 17 and Spring Boot framework.
• Proficient in designing and consuming both REST and SOAP web services.
• Hands-on experience deploying applications on AWS, specifically using Lambda and EC2, combined with knowledge of S3, IAM, CloudWatch, API Gateway, and RDS.
• Experience working with both relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Regular practical use of AI coding assistants like Claude or similar for coding enhancement and review.
• Good command of version control using Git.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.

Preferred but Not Mandatory

• Previous involvement in product or SaaS-based software development.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
• Experience in microservices architecture.
• Working experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Possession of AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification.

Work Conditions and Other Details

• This is a dedicated full-time remote position with work hours aligned with Indian Standard Time (IST), Monday through Friday.
• The role involves owning features end-to-end, including designing, building, testing, and deploying functionalities.
• Moonlighting or holding dual employment is strictly prohibited and monitored.
• Remuneration ranges from ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 per month depending on skills and experience.
• You will be part of an AI-first environment using AI tools for software development.
