Java Application Developer

Role Overview

This role involves collaborating closely with Solution Architects and Technical Leads to analyze and design code changes adhering to finalized requirement specifications. The developer must ensure that all work aligns with coding and security standards as well as corporate policies. Active participation in system integration testing is expected, providing support to the testing team and addressing any issues identified.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Solution Architect and Technical Lead to analyze and design code modifications following finalized specifications.
• Guarantee compliance with coding standards, security policies, and organizational processes throughout development.
• Assist in system integration testing by supporting the Test Team and resolving defects reported during testing.
• Offer assistance to both internal teams and external stakeholders during various testing phases.
• Support customers during acceptance testing and the post-cutover implementation period.
• Help develop training materials and deliver presentations as part of knowledge transfer activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields.
• At least 6 to 8 years of practical experience in backend development, focusing on production-ready systems such as microservices, APIs, event-driven processing, web portals, and production support.
• Strong expertise with AWS native services including API Gateway or ALB, ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudWatch/CloudTrail, and WAF.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Octopus, Terraform, or their equivalents.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, SQL/PLSQL, and XML development.
• Proficient in RESTful API design and implementation, with experience in Spring 5.x, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security, cloud-based technologies, and microservices architecture.
• Knowledgeable about messaging middleware such as Kafka, IBM MQ, or Solace.
• Experienced with container technologies including Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
• Good communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
• Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and sound decision-making ability.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain a positive, proactive attitude.
• Domain experience in financial services or payment systems is an added advantage.
