The role is based at United Lounges in O'Hare Airport (United Airlines ORDCS Terminal), Chicago, IL. Job Overview
As a Janitor, you will ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of buildings through comprehensive cleaning duties. This includes floor care, carpet shampooing, washing walls and glass, and properly disposing of waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures and infection control protocols.
- Perform dusting and damp mopping of floors using established methods.
- Move furniture and equipment to facilitate cleaning and return items to their designated places.
- Clean assigned areas using specified materials and equipment, sanitizing all surfaces following an eight-step cleaning process.
- Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Proactively identify areas requiring cleaning and complete tasks independently.
- Complete assignments issued by supervisors.
- Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and county regulations while performing duties.
- Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors as needed; shampoo carpets.
- Demonstrate professionalism and contribute positively when interacting with customers, team members, and others.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Requirements and Eligibility
- Previous experience in customer service is mandatory.
- Minimum of 6 months up to 1 year experience in janitorial work and deep cleaning.
- Qualified candidates must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule and Compensation
This position involves a full-time schedule, typically overnight from 9:00 pm to 5:30 am, totaling 40 hours per week, inclusive of weekends and holidays. The exact schedule may vary and will be discussed during the interview process. The fixed hourly wage for this role is $23.50.
