Job description
Objective
The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Conduct general factory cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the building and surrounding property.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties including heavy cleaning tasks.
- Empty trash receptacles regularly and manage cleaning supply inventory.
- Sanitize restroom areas and dust furniture, walls, and equipment.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Report to management any repairs or additions needed for building systems.
- Take care of exterior upkeep including green spaces and parking lots.
- Perform minor repairs on assigned equipment and assist in grounds and building maintenance.
- Operate forklift as part of job duties.
- Daily removal and disposal of litter and wastepaper inside and outside the facility.
- Remove snow from entryways, walkways, and maintain clear and safe exits and pathways throughout the shop floor.
- Provide assistance for maintenance tasks as required.
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests promptly.
- Work may involve exposure to harsh weather conditions, heavy lifting, awkward positions, and other hazards; must be physically capable of fulfilling such requirements.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of common cleaning techniques and procedures.
- Endurance to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods and perform repetitive actions.
- Experience operating cleaning equipment like vacuums and floor buffers and familiarity with cleaning chemicals and their proper use.
- Understanding of occupational safety rules related to hazards.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow directions under minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability in task completion.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent credential.
- Basic competence in mathematics.
- Preference may be given to candidates with high school shop courses for roles involving repair work.
