About Partners In Health Sierra Leone
Partners In Health (PIH) is a global health organization dedicated to enhancing healthcare access for impoverished and marginalized communities. By collaborating with local governments and communities, PIH strengthens health systems through high-quality healthcare delivery, provider training, research, and advocacy. The organization operates in multiple countries including Sierra Leone, where it has been supporting the government since the Ebola epidemic in 2014 to build sustainable healthcare capacity from community to hospital level.
Position Overview
The IT Officer role based in Freetown supports daily IT operations across multiple locations including Lakka Government Hospital and Kissy Psychiatric Hospital. Reporting to the IT Manager and working closely with the Senior IT Officer, the incumbent ensures robust network infrastructure and computer system functionality through hardware/software installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The officer also assists with maintaining an accurate IT asset inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline technical assistance and resolve end-user IT issues efficiently.
- Help users navigate systems and technological services effectively.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral issues according to organizational standards.
- Participate in deploying new technologies and upgrading network environments to maintain high availability.
- Collaborate on inventory management of IT equipment and software per policies.
- Train colleagues on IT tools and identify training needs from issue trends.
- Document troubleshooting processes and maintain support documentation.
- Prepare monthly IT performance, incident, and request reports for management.
- Perform additional specialized tasks as assigned by the IT Manager.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant field.
- 3 to 5 years progressive experience in IT operations and network systems coursework.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and Linux environments.
- Demonstrated skills in designing and managing LAN, WLAN, and VLAN networks.
- Experience with cloud services like SharePoint, Office365, Intune, and Serenic is beneficial.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti UniFi is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Jira ticketing system for IT support management.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
