Overview
The Qatar Technical Institute (QTI) relies heavily on its instructors to deliver superior vocational, technical, and defense education aligned with the standards set by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE). This role involves being an IT instructor within the General Studies department, which covers the first year of a two-year diploma. The instructor is responsible for teaching the Information Technology curriculum to military students, adhering to QTI policies, and covering applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive IT lessons that comply with curriculum and institutional policies.
- Help military students achieve both academic results and practical competency in core Microsoft office tools and email applications.
- Contribute actively to curriculum review, quality assurance, and ongoing improvements within the General Studies department.
- Create an inclusive and student-focused learning atmosphere that encourages engagement, problem-solving, and digital proficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and military stakeholders to promote student success and support departmental goals.
- Maintain accurate student progress records, attendance, behavior logs, and timely reporting in line with QTI regulations.
- Participate in lesson observations, professional development, and departmental quality enhancement initiatives.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a secure and professional classroom environment.
- Engage respectfully and professionally within the military training context, building strong relationships with military personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must hold a qualified teaching status or relevant qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., M.Ed., MA, BA, Diploma) in IT, Computer Science, Educational Technology, Digital Skills Training, Education, or related discipline.
- Proven experience teaching IT subjects to international students across diverse settings.
- Competent in teaching Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email applications, and other essential digital literacy tools.
- Strong soft skills, classroom management, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in using various teaching and administrative technologies.
- Commitment to cultural awareness, professionalism, and continuous self-improvement.
- Additional qualifications or experience in programming (Java, Python), cybersecurity, AI, networking, database design, and cybersecurity tools are advantageous.
- Experience working in military or Middle Eastern educational environments and knowledge of Arabic language are preferred.
Additional Information
Instructors may be required to assist in other subject areas or organizational programs depending on qualifications and expertise. Internal training, mentoring, and professional development will be provided as needed.
