Program Overview
The IT Graduate Development Program (ITDP) at Dell Technologies is designed for recent graduates passionate about software engineering and artificial intelligence. Participants will engage in rotational assignments over two years across critical technology teams, gaining mentorship and hands-on experience building intelligent solutions that deliver tangible business value. This program is tailored to graduates proficient in applying Generative AI technologies such as copilots, AI agents, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Program Details
- Start Date: August 2, 2027
- Location: Limerick, Ireland (fully on-site)
- Program Duration: Two years with two one-year rotations before final placement
Key Responsibilities
- Create and deploy AI-driven applications, assistants, intelligent workflows, and automation tools.
- Design scalable software solutions utilizing cloud-native architectures and modern engineering methods.
- Implement integrations across enterprise apps, APIs, data platforms, and AI services.
- Contribute to projects involving Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agents, and automated solutions enhancing business productivity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, product managers, data scientists, and engineers to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Adhere to responsible AI principles including security, privacy, and governance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Engage in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), monitoring, testing, and operational practices to maintain solution reliability and scalability.
- Use data-driven approaches and experimentation to enhance customer and employee experiences.
- Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies to solve real-world business challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning (graduated in 2026 or 2027).
- Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals such as object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, testing, and system design.
- Proficiency in at least one major programming language: Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++.
- Practical experience building and deploying AI-powered solutions gained through internships, academic projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions.
- Knowledge of Generative AI concepts including large language models (LLMs), AI assistants, copilots, prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Ability to adapt quickly, solve complex problems in ambiguous settings, and communicate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and delivery of measurable outcomes.
Desired Skills and Experiences
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and tools like PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel.
- Experience developing AI assistants, copilots, workflow automations, or recommendation systems.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of APIs, microservices, containerization, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and agile methodologies.
- Understanding of data engineering, databases, and modern data platforms.
- Participation in hackathons, research, competitions, or open-source projects demonstrating AI application.
- A portfolio showcasing practical AI technology projects addressing real business or technical challenges.
