IT Functional Analyst

Overview

The IT Functional Analyst serves as a vital link connecting business stakeholders and IT delivery teams. This role ensures clear capture, documentation, and interpretation of business needs into impactful technological solutions. Core responsibilities encompass functional analysis within IT departments and projects, comprehensive policy and process documentation, managing stakeholder relations, facilitating training sessions, and supporting governance frameworks across enterprise-wide business applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough business process analysis and elicit requirements through workshops, interviews, and document assessments.
• Create and upkeep detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS).
• Develop use cases and functional scenarios to guide solution design.
• Confirm requirement accuracy and traceability with business owners.
• Generate comprehensive project documentation including charters, scope definitions, functional specs, test scenarios, and UAT documentation.
• Establish and maintain RACI matrices to clarify roles and responsibilities.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with IT governance standards and supports audit readiness.
• Map current business processes and design improved process flows utilizing tools like Visio.
• Identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements to boost efficiency.
• Assist project managers in planning, coordination, and tracking deliverables.
• Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and system integrators to clarify requirements and solution frameworks.
• Organize and facilitate departmental meetings, workshops, and requirement validation sessions, documenting Minutes of Meeting and managing action plans.
• Serve as the central coordinator among business users, business applications teams, and vendors.
• Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test case creation and execution.
• Develop training documents, user manuals, and functional guides.
• Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for end users.
• Provide post-deployment stabilization and promote user adoption.
• Support daily coordination within the Business Applications team and manage enhancement/change requests.
• Drive continuous improvement in application utilization, data integrity, and business processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Certification in Project Management.
• At least 8 years of experience as a Business or Functional Analyst.
• Demonstrated expertise in gathering requirements, analyzing processes, and implementing solutions.
• Strong capabilities in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
