Eurofins Scientific is a global life sciences company providing diverse analytical testing services across multiple sectors to enhance safety, health, and sustainability of products and the environment. Their laboratories support major global clients to ensure product safety, authenticity, and accurate labeling.

The IT Application Architect role is based in Dublin, Ireland, with at least two days per week working onsite. This position focuses on leading the architecture for the ADMS, a core internal CRM system used worldwide across Eurofins laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing development and enhancement of the ADMS application architecture, including integrations and data flow design.
• Design solutions for key features and undertake technical initiatives.
• Ensure architectural decisions optimize security, scalability, performance, resilience, and maintainability.
• Convert complex business needs into implementable technical solutions.
• Work alongside Product Owners and Business Analysts to identify risks, dependencies, and technical impacts.
• Guide and mentor engineering teams and champion architecture best practices.
• Manage and resolve technical issues during development and production phases.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation and diagrams.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver strategic projects effectively.
• Encourage continuous improvement of architectural and engineering standards and methods.
• Experiment with new technologies through proofs-of-concept and architecture spikes.
• Promote an environment of knowledge sharing and professional development within the team.
• Innovate while balancing business demands and sustainability of solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least four years of professional experience in Application Architecture, Software Engineering, or related technical leadership positions.
• Proven track record in designing and evolving large enterprise applications.
• Demonstrated skill in leading technical discussions and influencing architectural decisions.
• Experience collaborating with business and technical stakeholders across functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field or practical experience.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Technical Expertise

• Proficient in C#, .NET, and Angular development frameworks.
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Knowledge of API design and distributed system architectures.
• Understanding and application of Domain-Driven Design principles.
• Skills in UML for modeling systems.
• Containerization experience with Docker.
• Familiar with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Agile software development processes.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Azure DevOps environment.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Understanding of risk-driven software architecture approaches.
• Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) familiarity.
• Ability to create High-Level Design (HLD) documentation.
• Use of the C4 Model for architecture visualization.
• Previous experience in multicultural and international workplace environments.
