ISP Network Administrator

Position Overview

Flashnet Tanzania is seeking a skilled Network Administrator to architect, implement, and manage the primary and peripheral network systems that support our ISP services in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on ensuring our network runs efficiently, securely, and can expand to meet growing demands.

Key Duties

• Oversee and maintain core, aggregation, and access networks including routers, switches, and Broadband Network Gateways (BNG).
• Operate routing protocols such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Intermediate System to Intermediate System (ISIS), and implement Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) across hardware from various vendors.
• Configure and provide support for networking equipment from Juniper, Huawei, Cisco, and MikroTik.
• Manage BNG functions for subscriber authentication (PPPoE/DHCP) and Quality of Service (QoS).
• Constantly monitor network performance, initiate network expansions and upgrades, and resolve escalated technical issues.
• Ensure the security of the network through Access Control Lists (ACLs), RADIUS/AAA authentication, and mitigation of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum five years of experience as a Network Administrator or Engineer within the ISP or telecommunications sector.
• Proficient in routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and MPLS, with exposure to multi-vendor environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in deploying BNG and managing subscriber networks.
• Strong understanding of IP addressing schemes, VLAN configurations, and Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts.
• Pursuit or possession of industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, HCIA/HCIP, or MTCNA/MTCRE is advantageous.
