Role Overview
The firm seeks an Investment Research Analyst to strengthen their team under a multi-asset research mandate. While predominantly rooted in public equity research, they welcome candidates with backgrounds in fixed income, foreign exchange, or other market sectors. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical capability, curiosity, and proficiency using modern research tools including artificial intelligence to gain a competitive edge.
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver robust alpha by applying a fundamental, bottom-up investment research approach.
- Conduct thorough fundamental analysis on assigned publicly traded companies to identify undervalued securities with promising long-term return potential.
- Analyze corporate financial statements using diverse valuation techniques such as discounted cash flow, price-to-earnings, and price-to-cash flow ratios.
- Develop clear models and communicate key business drivers, valuation insights, and investment recommendations for individual equities and related sectors.
- Support portfolio management efforts including buy/sell/hold advice and risk controls such as exposure and hedging strategies.
- Track significant company developments and identify broad macroeconomic themes influencing global industries and supply chains relevant to coverage.
- Stay current with industry and market trends to recognize evolving investment opportunities.
- Manage portfolio reporting and monitoring activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or another quantitative or analytical discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of two years' experience in investment research or analysis encompassing public equities, fixed income, FX, private equity, venture capital, or related fields.
Key Skills and Attributes
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation methods, financial statement analysis, due diligence, and data analytics.
- Excellent commercial intuition complemented by analytical rigor and critical thinking ability.
- Proficient in leveraging AI technologies such as large language models, research copilots, and data analysis tools to accelerate research processes including data sourcing, summarization, model building, and scenario testing; approaches AI as an enhancement tool rather than a dependency.
- Dependable and trustworthy with a positive, warm, and collaborative demeanor.
- A self-motivated individual with a continuous desire to learn and an aptitude for articulating well-considered viewpoints.
- Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while working effectively both autonomously and in team settings.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
