About the Role
At Genser Energy Ghana Limited, the Inventory Management Associate joins the Operations & Maintenance division to handle the comprehensive oversight of supplies and equipment — from receipt through storage to issuance. This critical function ensures accurate inventory data, timely transactions, and prevents stock shortages.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee unloading and acceptance of delivered goods and equipment from suppliers.
- Track and document all inventory transactions including receiving, stock placement, transfers, and returns within the inventory management system.
- Perform regular cycle counts and assist with complete inventory audits to maintain stock accuracy.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, reporting variances to the Inventory Superintendent.
- Collaborate with both operational teams and purchasing to forecast demands and guarantee sufficient stock levels.
- Manage and organize storage, warehousing, and store areas to optimize space and ensure safe material handling.
- Label and tag inventory items and equipment appropriately.
- Prepare regular inventory reports for management review and support data analysis.
- Work alongside the Health and Safety department to uphold compliance with Genser’s safety protocols concerning inventory handling.
- Propose enhancements to inventory tracking processes to improve efficiency.
Budgeting Duties:
- Assist in crafting the monthly budget.
- Participate in managing budgetary items, focusing on cost control and expense forecasting.
- Help ensure budget alignment with departmental planned activities.
Organizational Development:
- Supervise team members to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
- Conduct performance evaluations and develop growth plans for team members.
- Coordinate leave schedules of subordinate staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management, Engineering, or related disciplines is required.
- Experience in multicultural environments is advantageous.
- Command of French or Chinese languages is a beneficial asset.
Knowledge and Experience
- At least 4 years of relevant inventory management experience, ideally in heavy engineering within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with inventory and accounting software such as Sage, SAP, or QuickBooks.
