About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Internal Medicine Specialist to deliver comprehensive medical care to adult patients facing both acute and chronic health challenges. This role demands expertise in diagnosing and managing complex medical conditions, ensuring integrated multidisciplinary care, and adherence to clinical standards and UAE healthcare regulations.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform thorough clinical evaluations, including medical histories and physical exams, to diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of medical disorders.
• Develop personalized treatment strategies grounded in clinical evidence for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, thyroid issues, infections, respiratory and gastrointestinal ailments, and cardiovascular risk factors.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and ECGs to guide treatment.
• Identify and respond to clinical deterioration with emergency interventions and referrals when needed.
• Manage medication prescriptions carefully, monitor therapeutic outcomes, and mitigate adverse effects.
• Conduct preoperative assessments and optimize patient conditions prior to surgery.
• Coordinate referrals and specialist consultations for advanced care needs.
• Provide both inpatient and outpatient services in line with the facility's offerings.

Patient Interaction and Communication

• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, associated risks, and preventive measures to patients and their families with cultural sensitivity.
• Promote patient education focused on lifestyle changes, vaccination, and preventive health practices.
• Ensure seamless continuity of care, including follow-ups and discharge planning, while safeguarding patient confidentiality and autonomy.

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain precise, comprehensive medical records including assessments, prescriptions, and treatments.
• Adhere strictly to Dubai Health Authority guidelines, UAE health laws, and institutional policies.
• Follow infection control protocols, medication safety standards, and patient identification procedures.
• Engage actively in quality improvement efforts such as clinical audits, incident reporting, and patient safety initiatives.

Collaboration and Professional Growth

• Work cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, pharmacy, and allied health staff.
• Participate in clinical discussions, morbidity and mortality reviews, and departmental meetings.
• Commit to ongoing education and training to maintain current medical knowledge.
• Take part in on-call rotations and emergency response duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a recognized medical degree (e.g., MBBS) and a postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine meeting DHA standards.
• Relevant clinical experience aligning with DHA licensing and employer requirements.
• Certifications in Basic Life Support (mandatory) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support as applicable.
• Proficiency with clinical guidelines, diagnostic tools, and management of complex adult medical cases.
• Experience using electronic medical records systems effectively.
• Fluent English communication skills; Arabic proficiency is advantageous.
