Role Overview
The Internal Auditor position is a full-time, onsite role located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. This role entails evaluating and enhancing the organization's financial and operational control systems. Responsibilities include planning and executing internal audits, reviewing financial documentation and processes, ensuring compliance with internal rules and legal regulations, and preparing comprehensive audit reports. The auditor will identify risks, suggest corrective actions, and monitor their implementation to improve governance and stewardship.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in conducting audit reports and performing financial audits to plan, carry out, and document internal audit activities effectively.
- Strong analytical capabilities with thorough knowledge of finance to assess financial data, controls, and risk exposure.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly through written reports and verbal presentations to various stakeholders.
- Academic credentials in Accounting, Finance, or related areas, with preferred professional certifications such as CIA, ACCA, or ACA.
- Experience in internal audit, risk management, or financial control, particularly within nonprofit or faith-based sectors is advantageous.
- Exemplifies integrity, meticulous attention to detail, ability to work independently, and maintain confidentiality.
