About the Role and Organization
As a member of the Internal Audit team at MetLife Gulf, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the company and its stakeholders by providing independent, risk-oriented, and objective assurance through thorough audit execution. Additionally, you will offer valuable advice and insights via strategic advisory engagements. Collaborating extensively across various departments, you will apply strong problem-solving skills, consulting expertise, and uphold high ethical standards to support MetLife's growth objectives. The role involves addressing emerging business risks proactively by fostering talent development, utilizing innovative technology, and nurturing a culture of innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and perform audit activities mandated by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB).
- Execute audits of moderate complexity to evaluate the adequacy, compliance, financial soundness, and cost-effectiveness of operational and informational system controls, documenting findings thoroughly within the audit system.
- Assist the Head of Audit in compiling audit reports and identifying issues.
- Help resolve outstanding audit and risk issues by engaging effectively with management and stakeholders.
- Participate actively in audit projects, ensuring assigned tasks are completed within set budgets and timelines, including explaining any deviations.
- Carry out additional audit duties as assigned by the Head of Audit.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years of experience in audit roles, whether internal or external.
- Progress towards postgraduate qualifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CIA is preferred.
- Proficiency in English with excellent verbal, written, and presentation capabilities.
- Familiarity with data and analytics is advantageous.
- Experience auditing within multinational life insurance companies is desirable.
- Solid understanding of audit methodologies, principles, and practices, with the capacity to analyze complex material and apply innovative approaches.
- Knowledge of international auditing standards, local regulations, and business operations concerning insurance products, risk management, and other financial services.
Preferred Skills
- Progress towards advanced post-graduate certification (CPA, CA, ACCA, CIA).
- Competency in artificial intelligence tools such as Copilot and Claude.
