About DSS Imagetech and Role Overview
DSS Imagetech focuses on Life Sciences research, Medical Diagnostics, and Healthcare, with key interests in research imaging, clinical diagnostics, IVF, and food testing. We channel our expertise to provide innovative solutions across India by manufacturing, distributing, and innovating products for the scientific and medical community.
We are looking for a Business Development Intern specializing in new product promotion within the DSS group to assist in expanding business operations from the incubation phase to full maturity. This internship offers an opportunity to earn a full-time role based on performance, with future responsibilities including sales targets and broader challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Grasp the scope of DSS's business, markets, and product portfolio.
- Promote new technological products and novel principles within the market.
- Conduct comprehensive market research to detect trends and growth opportunities in biotechnology.
- Devise and execute business development strategies to meet company objectives.
- Deliver monthly presentations on market understanding and track market entry successes.
- Represent the organization at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to increase brand awareness.
- Meet the requirement of attending at least one industry event monthly and submit timely reports.
- Prospect and secure new clients within the biotechnology sector.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships by understanding their requirements and ensuring satisfaction.
- Conduct at least 30 client visits monthly, including a minimum of 5 days touring outstation territories.
- Engage leads weekly via calls, emails, or meetings, maintaining a healthy pipeline.
- Aim for a lead conversion rate of at least 2% turning into sales.
- Complete one client satisfaction survey before concluding the internship.
- Keep abreast of competitor activity through ongoing market and competitive analysis.
- Provide weekly detailed reports and market feedback to the reporting manager.
- Stay knowledgeable on our biotech products to deliver compelling client and internal presentations monthly.
- Regularly compile sales reports and forecasts, collaborating with sales teams to improve strategies.
- Submit the required number of quotations and follow up on revenues.
- Collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, and operations departments to ensure smooth implementation of development strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- Graduates or postgraduates preferably with a science background; biotechnology majors strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated research and communication competence.
- Solid understanding of biotech industry trends, technologies, and market dynamics.
- Self-driven and highly motivated to identify and seize opportunities in varied roles.
Additional Information
Candidates who are interested in transitioning to a permanent role will be given preference. This role demands commitment to learning and adaptability to evolving business needs.
