Trulioo fosters a collaborative, inclusive culture recognized for excellence as a top employer. The position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering and focuses on advancing agent-based verification workflows from prototypes to production, leveraging AI technologies and emerging tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy agent capabilities such as Vertex AI-based Discovery Agents, owning all full software development lifecycle phases for assigned components.
- Enhance and stabilize proof-of-concept agent code by improving error handling, observability, test coverage, and performance considering cost and latency.
- Design evaluation strategies and tests tailored for the non-deterministic nature of agent behavior, distinct from traditional deterministic software testing.
- Construct and maintain data ingestion pipelines supporting agents, utilizing AWS and big data technologies.
- Collaborate with product and senior engineers to interpret business needs into functional, deployed features.
- Participate in production support, including monitoring, alerting, and incident management for AI-driven services.
- Continuously apply AI and cutting-edge techniques to enhance productivity, simplify workflows, and optimize processes, ensuring responsible, compliant AI use.
- Integrate AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) into daily development routines, critically reviewing AI-generated code before deployment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related areas.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in software engineering or development roles.
- Proactive and self-reliant approach with comfort in ambiguity and initiative in problem-solving.
- Effective communicator and team player working well with senior engineers.
- Strong proficiency in Python or equivalent backend languages writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, and foundational experience in API development (at least RESTful services).
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and exposure to data pipeline technologies like PySpark or Airflow.
- Experience leveraging AI coding assistants routinely, plus having built at least one complex project involving large language models performing multi-step tasks beyond simple Q&A.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with orchestration and big data tools such as Apache Airflow, Dagster, Spark, Presto/Trino, or Hive.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies like Terraform or AWS CDK.
- Interest or academic background in identity verification, fraud prevention, security, or financial technology.
Benefits and Work Culture
- Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement plans with company matching, paid leave, parental leave, and annual education stipends ($1,000 local currency value).
- Hybrid work environment supporting in-office collaboration three days per week, with amenities such as catered lunches, quality coffee, wellness workshops, social events, on-site gyms, parent rooms, and ergonomic workspaces.
