About the Role
QIX Consulting is collaborating with reputable and expanding accounting firms located on the outskirts of Melbourne’s CBD to recruit experienced Intermediate and Senior Accountants seeking their next career step within Australian public practice. These roles provide a chance for accountants to gain extensive client engagement, enhanced advisory experience, and authentic long-term career growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate financial statements and income tax returns for entities including companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Complete BAS, IAS, and other statutory compliance submissions.
- Manage and provide support to a portfolio comprising business services and taxation clients.
- Offer assistance with tax planning and business advisory services.
- Engage directly with clients and the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
- Identify and resolve taxation and accounting challenges by delivering practical solutions.
- Develop strong professional relationships with clients, managers, and partners.
- For Senior roles, review junior accountants' work and provide mentorship.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience working in Australian public practice accounting environments is mandatory.
- Demonstrated competence at Intermediate or Senior Accountant levels.
- A degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of Australian taxation laws and accounting standards.
- CA or CPA certification, or active pursuit of these qualifications, is highly favored.
- Excellent client communication abilities and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail paired with effective organizational skills.
