Role Overview
We are inviting a motivated and meticulous Intermediate Accountant to join our expanding team. This position suits an accomplished professional passionate about providing top-quality financial and tax services, skilled in client engagement, and keen to enhance our operational systems and service standards.
As part of our public practice, you will manage your own portfolio of clients acting as their primary contact. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, tax returns, GST filings, and related client communications, particularly focusing on property compliance matters. You will collaborate closely with the Directors, gaining visibility into decision-making processes and contributing to operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and finalize financial reports, tax returns, and supporting documentation to exacting standards
- Prepare and submit GST returns for various clients
- Ensure accuracy and compliance through thorough review of tax and financial documentation
- Engage directly with clients to identify needs and deliver tailored solutions
- Assist in onboarding new clients to the practice
- Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing workflow efficiency and client service experience
- Stay updated with current New Zealand tax laws and accounting standards
Candidate Profile
- 2-3 years of experience within a public practice accounting setting
- Progressing toward or already holding CA or CPA certification
- Strong understanding of New Zealand tax regulations and accounting principles
- Exceptional attention to detail coupled with clear communication skills suitable for clients
- Proactive attitude with the ability to independently drive tasks forward
