Interior Designer

Position Overview

Archivista is seeking a highly creative and meticulous Interior Designer to join their team in Mumbai. The selected professional will be entrusted with crafting innovative interior design concepts, producing detailed drawings, collaborating with both clients and field teams, and ensuring flawless implementation of designs onsite.

Primary Duties

• Conceptualize interior design themes, layouts, and plan space utilization.
• Create comprehensive 2D drawings including working drawings, furniture arrangements, ceiling plans, flooring layouts, and elevation sketches.
• Draft and verify drawings related to civil, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, false ceiling, painting, and other interior elements.
• Liaise regularly with site supervisors, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to maintain streamlined communication.
• Conduct frequent site inspections ensuring adherence to approved design plans and quality benchmarks.
• Capture precise site measurements and generate drawings reflecting actual site conditions.
• Identify any conflicts between design documents and on-site realities, providing effective resolutions.
• Compile Bills of Quantities (BOQs), specify materials, estimate quantities, and prepare measurement sheets as required.
• Support material selection processes including finishes, furnishings, lighting, sanitaryware, and hardware.
• Prepare visual presentations as necessary to communicate design concepts.
• Manage design revisions diligently, ensuring accurate documentation of all changes.
• Follow up persistently with vendors and contractors regarding materials, drawings, samples, and execution progress.
• Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, approvals, and site directives.
• Oversee quality and workmanship on-site, directing issues promptly to the project team.
• Ensure all projects are executed within stipulated quality, deadlines, and design guidelines.

Professional Requirements

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, Photoshop, or equivalent design software is beneficial.
• Solid understanding of interior construction and onsite execution principles.
• Knowledgeable in false ceilings, carpentry, civil works, electrical systems, plumbing, flooring, painting, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to interpret architectural and MEP drawings correctly.
• Good insight into materials, finishes, hardware, and interior accessories.
• Effective site coordination and practical problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Capability to work autonomously while juggling multiple assignments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related disciplines.
• Between 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in interior design and project execution.

Compensation

The remuneration ranges between 20,000 to 25,000 INR per month.
