Integration Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Integration Platform Engineer with specialized experience in Boomi and Kafka technologies. The role involves steering integration architecture and engineering benchmarks within a substantial enterprise context. As an Integration Platform Lead Developer, you will be responsible for guiding the technical course across various significant projects, architecting and delivering integration solutions that emphasize security, scalability, and resilience. This senior, hands-on role merges intricate technical execution with architectural decision-making, cross-functional team leadership, and the opportunity to elevate engineering excellence throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Boomi and Kafka engineering efforts, setting the technical strategies for multiple projects and translating business needs into reliable integration frameworks while validating the solutions delivered.
• Design and implement complex integrations including API-driven, application-to-application, file transfer, B2B interactions, and event-driven models.
• Direct Kafka infrastructure engineering for production environments, focusing on Amazon MSK, topic and partition organization, Kafka Connect configurations, schema evolution, data replication, and system recovery protocols.
• Develop and establish engineering best practices by creating reusable components, formal API contracts, mappings, error handling conventions, and deployment approaches embraced by various teams.
• Advocate for automation and quality by implementing automated tests, performance benchmarks, continuous integration/deployment pipelines, release governance, and deployment tooling leveraging scripting and AWS technologies.
• Provide technical leadership by coordinating delivery among teams, conducting architecture and code reviews, mentoring engineers, and managing priorities, dependencies, and timelines.
• Ensure high-quality production engineering by defining and tracking KPIs, managing SLAs and SLOs, implementing observability and recovery methods, and leading advanced Tier-3 incident resolution and root cause analysis.
• Contribute to future platform developments by influencing modernization plans, evaluating new technologies, assessing financial implications and risks, and advising senior stakeholders on technical and business decisions.

Required Experience and Skills

• Extensive, practical experience with Boomi including architecture design, process workflows, connector configurations, mapping, API management, testing strategies, deployments, and runtime administration.
• Advanced Kafka skills encompassing producers, consumers, topic partitioning, replication, delivery assurances, Kafka Connect, schema management, and troubleshooting in production scenarios.
• Experience with Amazon MSK is highly preferred; however, expertise in other managed Kafka systems along with robust AWS knowledge will also be considered.
• Solid understanding and hands-on expertise in AWS services related to identity and access management (IAM), networking architectures, encryption methods, and security controls.
• Strong scripting and automation proficiencies using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
• Proven ability to construct automated testing frameworks, performance validation, and deployment pipelines.
• Comprehensive knowledge of production observability, monitoring tools, incident handling, disaster recovery planning, and root cause diagnostics.
• Demonstrated technical leadership with experience in mentoring, conducting design reviews, managing resources, and liaising with stakeholders across several projects.
• Experience with capacity planning, financial optimization, and managing service KPIs alongside SLA/SLO frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with globally dispersed teams and participate actively in Tier-3 on-call rotations including weekdays and weekends.
