Job Overview
The Insurance Specialist at Standard Chartered Bank is responsible for driving sales, managing customer portfolios, supporting marketing strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance within the insurance domain. This role focuses on collaborating with frontline staff to deliver tailored insurance solutions to clients in Nairobi, Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside frontline teams to engage prospective customers and provide expert insurance planning and presales guidance.
- Assess clients' financial situations to identify insurance needs and recommend suitable insurance products.
- Select optimal sales channels and ensure high-quality after-sales service to nurture customer relationships and generate referrals.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to enhance sales performance and conduct continuous product training specific to customer segments.
- Manage sales productivity by conducting joint reviews with segment leaders and implementing a comprehensive sales process across branches.
- Support product development and deployment of systems to facilitate sales and service delivery.
- Boost insurance product penetration across various client segments and organize weekly webinars and sales/training meetings to educate and support front-line staff.
- Maintain a strong Bancassurance Customer Value Proposition (CVP) by working with product managers to identify growth and cross-selling opportunities.
- Design and execute marketing strategies aligned with business objectives, leveraging customer behavior and market analysis.
- Monitor Bancassurance product sales and ensure compliance with sales processes to prevent mis-selling and promote fair customer treatment.
- Train, coach, and motivate the sales distribution team to achieve business goals.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory standards, including anti-money laundering protocols.
- Exhibit exemplary conduct in line with the Group's values, code of conduct, and ethical standards.
- Engage with various stakeholders such as customers, segment general managers, branch managers, investment advisors, operations, technology, HR, and training teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in any business-related discipline.
- Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance.
- Knowledge of life and general insurance products.
- Strong analytical capabilities and sales proficiency.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Client portfolio management and collaboration skills.
- Interpersonal communication expertise.
