About the Role

An Instructional Technologist is needed to contribute centrally to developing and enhancing workforce training for a cutting-edge energy project based in Germany. The role involves designing comprehensive, compliant educational programs that prepare plant staff for operational success and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement training procedures, processes, and curricula compliant with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards for a newly formed training department.
  • Design and deploy strategies supporting program accreditation and sustained training quality.
  • Employ the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) methodology to create, update, and continually improve educational content.
  • Revise training materials to integrate changes in plant design, procedures, technical parameters, and operational practices.
  • Work closely with leadership, project teams, emergency responders, regulators, and other stakeholders to optimize the training framework.
  • Develop robust assessment tools, including exams, evaluations, practical exercises, on-the-job guides, and simulator-based testing.
  • Implement systems for performance monitoring, trainee feedback, counseling, and custom learning pathways.
  • Integrate lessons from industry incidents, regulation updates, operating experience, and internal reviews into course content.
  • Support regulatory inspections, accreditation audits, management reviews, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive, audit-ready training records and documentation.
  • Assist management with planning, setting goals, resource allocation, and budget preparation for the training department.
  • Foster an environment emphasizing quality, accountability, collaboration, and continuous advancement across training processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, training, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in education, instructional technology, or training development, particularly in regulated or industrial settings.
  • Demonstrated ability creating and managing training programs compliant with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools and diverse training delivery techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, and collaboration aptitude.
  • Detail-oriented mindset ensuring production of precise and quality educational resources.
  • Adaptable to evolving project requirements and operational updates.
  • Experience influencing and upholding training standards and driving ongoing improvements.
  • Commitment to integrity, professionalism, teamwork, and transparent communication.
  • Understanding of impacts of training decisions on compliance, safety, and organizational outcomes.
  • Prior experience in nuclear, energy, engineering, or comparably complex technical domains strongly preferred.
