The role of Commercial/Residential Installer Technician is essential in converting sold projects into thoroughly completed, quality installations that contribute to company revenue, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure long-term functionality. The technician is responsible for accurately loading materials, installing doors and operators safely across residential and commercial projects, following detailed job instructions, and completing necessary checklists. This position directly influences installation quality, timeliness, safety standards, and first-time completion success.

Responsibilities

• Install various types of doors including commercial and residential garage doors, overhead doors, rolling steel doors, and electric operators
• Carry out fundamental installation tasks such as mounting tracks, winding springs, setting hardware sections, and attaching trim
• Interpret job paperwork and adhere strictly to installation instructions
• Complete installations meeting established quality and safety standards
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing paperwork and loading proper materials
• Ensure availability of all necessary tools, hardware, and door components before heading to job sites
• Avoid installation delays and errors by thorough preparation and material handling
• Use hand and power tools safely and proficiently, including drills, saws, hammers, wrenches, and tape measures
• Understand and read wiring diagrams to support operator installations as needed
• Perform physically demanding tasks like lifting heavy materials and working at heights on ladders or lifts
• Maintain readiness for both residential and commercial-scale installations
• Complete all required pre-installation and post-installation checklists
• Adhere to all PPE requirements and safety protocols continuously
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, arriving prepared for each job
• Exhibit professional conduct and represent the company positively on customer premises
• Follow instructions meticulously, avoid cutting corners, and deliver quality workmanship that lasts
• Support company interests by maintaining safe work practices, neat execution, and professionalism
