About The Role
Join our team as an Installation Specialist based at one of our Customer Delivery Hubs where you'll bring our unique John Lewis experience directly to customers' homes. You'll be responsible for installing a variety of products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TVs as part of a two-person delivery team using a 7.5-tonne vehicle. This position requires candidates to be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a representative of the John Lewis brand by delivering excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to load the delivery vehicle each day.
- Display respect and politeness within customers' homes and resolve unexpected challenges to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Efficiently install products and educate customers on their operation post-installation.
- Stay informed about new product lines and technologies to enhance job performance.
- Uphold safety standards throughout work activities.
Note that this role involves substantial heavy lifting, including large items such as sofas, white goods, sports gear, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Prior installation experience is necessary; additional training for installer accreditation will be provided.
- Holder of a Manual C1 UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Must possess a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) or Driver Qualification Card by the first workday.
- Possession of a Tachograph Card.
- Experience driving 7.5-tonne vehicles.
- Previous customer-facing experience.
- Strong verbal communication abilities both in person and over the phone.
- Good technological knowledge.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience with installation and disconnection of white goods.
- Ability to install TVs.
- Skills in assembling flat-pack furniture.
