About the Role
The company Skyview Detroit is seeking a skilled Carpenter / Pergola Installer. This position involves the installation of StruXure motorized pergolas and Magnatrack motorized screens.
Primary Responsibilities
- Construct all assigned projects ensuring they are plumb, square, and conform to engineering specifications and regulatory codes.
- Review contract details, instructions, and drawings thoroughly before heading to work sites to clarify tasks.
- Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers to uphold the company's reputation.
- Prepare the vehicle for assignments with all necessary parts, tools, and resources to complete jobs efficiently.
- Support the Production Manager in achieving company standards and departmental objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years of prior experience in construction or skilled labor focusing on carpentry, roofing, window installation, or related trades.
- High school diploma or GED mandatory; an associate degree or trade school certification in construction or a similar area is preferred.
- Proficiency in using tools such as brakes, utility knives, hammers, and cordless drills.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record capable of operating and maintaining fleet vehicles and trailers.
- Construction-related math abilities and strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in deck building or modifications, concrete foundations, siding, roofing, framing, and custom metal or flashing work.
- Competence in caulking for weatherproofing and cosmetic purposes.
- Familiarity with power tools including table saws, miter saws, circular saws, reciprocating saws, and drills.
- Use of hand tools like hammers, pry bars, levels, metal brakes, and tape measures.
- Ability to interpret basic architectural drawings.
Physical and Performance Requirements
- Capable of working at elevated heights using scaffolding, ladders, and roofs.
- Ability to lift heavy materials weighing over 80 pounds.
- Agility to perform tasks at elevation safely.

- Compensation: Annual salary ranging from $50,000 to $80,000
