Overview
This role supports the Installer or Lead Installer in setting up residential and light commercial HVAC systems and their components under direct supervision. The position involves assisting with installation, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining company standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Aid the Installer or Lead Installer in placing HVAC equipment and accessories at customer sites.
- Help install heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration units, and related components following company protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Assist with the setup of ducts and associated fittings.
- Deliver excellent customer service and contribute to high customer satisfaction levels.
- Support the transport and removal of installation equipment as needed.
- Help maintain and properly account for company property, vehicles, and tools alongside the Installer or Lead Installer.
- Complete necessary documentation accurately and timely when required.
- Represent the company with professionalism, honesty, and ethical conduct in all business matters.
- Maintain cleanliness and neatness of installation vehicles inside and out, reflecting the company’s professional image.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Ensure regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED required; additional HVAC technical training preferred.
- 0 to 2 years experience in HVAC installation desirable.
- Must hold valid certifications/licenses as mandated by applicable federal, state, or local laws for the work area.
- EPA and safety certifications are necessary.
- Basic understanding of HVAC equipment functionality and related accessories.
- Mechanical aptitude and capability to use or learn to use required tools and equipment.
- Fundamental ability to interpret wiring diagrams.
- Strong communication skills for customer interaction and service delivery.
- Effective time management and organization abilities.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on call as needed.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders and attic stairs; navigate attics, basements, crawl spaces; perform repetitive physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Capable of working in various environmental conditions including temperature extremes, indoors and outdoors, slippery surfaces, heights, and confined spaces.
- Ability to safely climb ladders rated for 300 lb load capacity while carrying tools weighing approximately 30 pounds.
- Near or corrected vision with normal depth perception required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and carry items up to 50 pounds.
