Job Overview

This position involves remote work from home with inspections conducted primarily in the Swiss cantons of Ticino and the Italian-speaking part of Graubünden. The role focuses on examining and verifying electrical installations subject to mandatory plan submissions to ensure compliance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and test electrical systems that require plan submissions.
• Evaluate the safety and conformity of electrical installations.
• Oversee tasks carried out by both public and private network operators.
• Supervise and support control authorities.
• Provide technical advice related to electrical systems.
• Serve as an examination expert for granting limited installation authorizations.

Candidate Profile

• Background as an expert in electrical installations and safety or certified electrical installer or skilled tradesperson under OIBT regulations.
• Knowledge of medium and high voltage systems is highly desirable.
• Experience in implementing and inspecting electrical installations and systems.
• Reliable, precise, and assertive personality.
• Enjoys autonomous work and takes responsibility seriously.

Additional Information

The Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Current Installations (ESTI) supervises electrical installations not governed by the Federal Office of Transport, ensuring they are designed, constructed, and maintained safely and environmentally responsibly. This includes high voltage, low voltage, and weak current installations. ESTI also oversees the electrical product market under a federal mandate and investigates electrical installation-related accidents alongside the Swiss National Accident Insurance Fund (Suva).
